Volunteer pilots helping others in their time of crisis, flying non-emergency patients to appointments can make all the difference in someone’s life.
There are over 31,000 aircraft in Canada and 4/5 are privately owned. These General Aviation private pilots can add tremendous capacity to existing emergency response efforts in times of need.
Partnering with various animal welfare organizations many general aviation pilots volunteer their time and their aircraft to help pets and wildlife who need airlift services to safer homes.
The youth of today are tomorrow’s pilots. Introducing young people to many exciting careers in aviation builds stronger communities. Additionally, all pilots and supporting volunteers can benefit from shared training to make every flight do as much good as possible in and for communities.
There is so much that must happen before a pilot can fly to help others. It takes many other supporting sectors and partners to make each and every flight possible. All the various related fields create jobs and economic growth and build capacity for communities to thrive.
